I cannot find the domain I want - can you help me find one? Of
course - although many domain names have already been registered there are still many options left! Here are some hints that should help - to check any of these use our online Domain Name Search.
- Domain names can now be longer - up to 63 characters.
- If the .com or .co.uk domain names have gone consider the .net, .org or .org.uk domains - there are no restrictions - anyone may register these as well!
- If you are a UK Ltd. or Plc. company you can register a .ltd.uk or .plc.uk domain name.
- You can seperate characters in a domain name with hyphens - if you wanted "domainname.com" - perhaps "domain-name.com" is available?
- Register a "generic" name - if "your-company-name.com" or "your-company-name.co.uk" have been registered you can always register a name that describes your products and services or perhaps the area you live / work in?
- Try using a thesaurus to find similar names - for instance if you wanted a domain with the word "shop" but it had gone then options may include "store", "mall", "market" or "mart". If you do not have one try
here online!
Words like "for", "to" or "you" can be changed for characters like "4", "2" or "u" - so if "foodforthought.com" had gone - maybe "food4thought.com" is available?
You can also prefix or suffix domains with other words - just because your-name.com has been registered perhaps yournameuk.com, yourname-uk.com or yournameonline.com would be suitable?
Some examples of common words you could use are:

intentionally or otherwise. This applies to both businesses and individuals. Although companies may have traded with the same or similar name for many years only one can use it as a domain name.
If a company believes that the registration of their company name, brand names or registered trademarks as a Domain Name by a third party constitutes an infringement of trademark or an
