What are the different domain types for? The original plan was
that domain names would reflect what the domain was to be for - this meant that:

UK Public Limited (Plc.) Companies. |

UK Government departments and government funded organisations. |
.ac.uk |
UK Academic institutions. |
Please note that although this was their original "intended" use - as many more domain names
